Homecoming Assembly and Football Game

Thursday, October 2

Several members of the Class of ’64 attended the Homecoming Assembly at 10:30 on the morning of Thursday, Oct. 2 to kick off reunion festivities. Those who attended were formally recognized during the assembly. We sat in our own "Senior" section.

After the assembly, Reunion Committee members were off to the River's Edge banquet hall to set up for Friday's event. One of our fellow classmates, John Sandoval, came to help us set up and he presented the committee with gifts in appreciation for their dedication and the hard work that went into the planning of the reunion festivities. It was his way of thanking the committee for keeping us all connected.  The guys received baseball caps and the ladies received scarves.  Both were imprinted with our names, the Colt emblem, and 1964-2014 on them.

Game time for the Homecoming football game was 7 p.m. at Dutch Clark Stadium.  The opponent was Cheyenne Mountain High School. Forty of us signed up to attend, and we sat together in a designated area. The Colts stomped Cheyenne Mountain, winning 46-0.   John Reinert won the 50/50 raffle at half time, which amounted to $107. Way to go, John!
